In 2025, "A Good Day's Work", I am happy to say, was chosen for the 75th Annual National Exhibition of traditional Realism at Academic Artists Association, which opens in November 2025, where it won the Maris Platais Memorial Award.

It was first shown at the 101st Annual Elected Artists  Exhibition  at Lyme Art Association, where it won Third Prize.

It went from the to the Wethersfield Academy for the Arts Biennial Fine Art Competition.

From there it went to New York for the American Artists Professional League 94th Grand National at the Salmagundi Club.

From there it went to the National Oil and Acrylic Painters Best of America at the Principal Gallery in Virginia.

It then traveled to Cape Cod Art Center for the All New England Open Juried exhibition where it won the Jack T. Ahlin Award of Excellence.

It was also in the second Acrylic International Biennial Juried Exhibition at the Kenosha Public Museum, WI and closer to home in the 124th Annual Juried Exhibition of the venerable New Haven Paint and Clay Club

It is now at Copley Society in Boston for the 2026 All Members Exhibitions now through January 31.

The gentleman in the painting is Mr. Welles, a neighbor of mine in Mystic. His shop is nearby as well. I have been wanting to find the right time (and enough time) to paint him for quite a while. I hope this does him justice.
