The waterways on Florida's Gulf Coast were at one time dotted with fishing shanties and ice houses for keeping the fish fresh. Most of them have succumbed to hurricane winds, storm surges and rising sea levels over the years. I have painted a number of them, some of which are no longer standing. This is one of those remaining in Pine Island Sound, which have now been landmarked so this bit of coastal history will not be completely lost. A new painting, chosen for the 2021 Biennale, national  exhibition on Hilton Head Island in May 2021.

It was also included in "Point of View", Lyme Art Association's 2021 Elected Artists' juried exhibition, where it won an Award of Merit.

Sold at Hughes Gallery.
