"Always on Call" was created for the Coast Guard Art Program (COGAP) in 2003. It won the George Gray Award for Artistic Excellence that year. The Coast Guard Art Collection now holds over 200o works of art. Art from the program is exhibited at museums through out the country and in offices of members of Congress, cabinet members, senior government officials and Coast Guard and other military  locations nationwide.

This painting shows a  Coast Guardsman on patrol calling the crew of the cutter in the distance. Homeland security, maritime law enforcement and border control is the oldest of the Coast guard's numerous responsibilities and dates back to it's founding as the Revenue Marine in 1790. It was part of the 2019 COGAP exhibit Federal Hall National Memorial in lower Manhattan, which included the 40 paintings in the 2019 collection, as well as past award winning paintings.
