On The Wings of the Storm

"On the Wings of the Storm" was inspired by watching a storm on the Gulf from the beach in Boca Grande, Florida, so it is appropriate that it is included in my 2019 collection for my show at Hughes Gallery. I loved trying to capture the storm's power, it's beauty, everchanging clouds, even a little far off lightening, the ibis flying off out of harm's way. This storm has passed , the danger is over, and the light is coming out under the clouds. 

The painting was selected for The Art of Conservation 2018, a virtual exhibition and beautiful book published by Artists for Conservation each year. I have been a member of this worldwide organization of artists for quite a few years.  A portion of the sales of the works selected goes to the conservation organization of each artist's choice.
